An unusual NATO arsenal-converted Ludwig Loewe, originally a 7mm Mauser, but went back to the arsenals for re-barreling in the 1960s, Chilean crest, less than 2% of Chilean Mauser full-length rifles were arsenal-converted to 7.62, happens to have a 29 inch barrel which I'm sure helps with its accuracy, have taken it shooting several times , open sites, 100 yards end up with good group with 5 rounds, was with some incredibly old Military 7.62 ammo we picked up at a yard sale, full metal jacket, probably 150 grain, some of the research done on this rifle, some say will shoot 308 fine, others say you should not, velocity research I've done says the very long barrel, 7.62 ammo ends up with the similar velocity as a shorter 308 barrel does, originally planned to scope however plans have changed, would be great to add to any collection, prices of some of these have gotten quite high. +(HONESDALE)
